Plum Street Temple Bat Mitzvah, 6 May 2006
This recording features the newly-restored 1866 Koehnken organ at Plum Street Temple in Cincinnati, where I occasionally serve as supply organist. Reform Jewish liturgy is performed with grace and skill here in this magnificent building, also dating from 1866. If you're unfamiliar with Reform Jewish liturgy, do listen to all of these selections, as they will portray the harmonic and rhythmic flavour of this rich tradition. The Cantorial Soloist is Deborrah Cannizzaro and the service is led by Rabbi Lewis Kamrass.
